Hotel: The Embassy was not as good as it's been in the past. Granted I know they hate ACen goers but they aren't helping the situation themselves. The room was kinda damaged when we got there and smaller than expected for a king suite. Everyone slept pretty comfortably but it took some major rearranging. They revoked the ability to take breakfast back up to the room. And breakfast was pretty mediocre anyway. And yet, they didn't seem to have limits on how much booze you could get for free at happy hour. Add fuel to the fire why don't you?
Panels/Events: I barely made it to anything this year. Lines were too long. Events got pushed back so far I could no longer go. If I hadn't seen Eyeshine back in November, I'd have really been crushed over missing this concert. The best panel I went to was one where the actual panelists didn't show up and some random awesome guys came out of the audience and started talking. They were pretty freaking awesome. And I got a koala out of it. I hope they do end up doing the We Don't Know Fashion Show (for Plus Sizes) like they kinda promised it. I'll be on the look out for it if I actually go next year.
The Masquerade: I can't believe it got canceled. Events never should have been 2 hours behind. And I know the fire alarm was not something they planned on but it was the straw that broke the Masque's back. Canceling skits and having the walk ons pretty much run on in favor of the damn rave is BS. ACen is supposed to be about anime right? You're seriously gonna keep a rave and cancel the costume/skit contest? Ugh. As someone who doesn't even go to the Masque, it makes me sick. I feel terrible for everyone who worked so hard on their material and got told they wouldn't get to present it. They all deserve more than just comp badges for next year.
Cosplay: Gwendolyn and Faris weren't really recognized all that much but were well received by people who recognized them. I wish I had been able to make it to the Odin Sphere shoot, even if it probably would have been only a photoshoot of me. But Naruto ran long and I was too tired to change again. Pokemon went well. Though lots of people thought
Shopping: Got a couple long standing merchandise quests accomplished. Though there's so much non-anime related stuff in the vendor hall...it's really sad. There's so many corset shops showing up. How many does one con need?
